Keeping those big jet airlines running on time can be a big challenge this winter.
More than eight thousand flights passing through Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport yesterday were canceled or delayed. Travel expert Cathi Banks of Legacy Travel says that's why we're seeing on-time ratings dropping these days.
“You have to admit, it's been a really brutal winter in most parts of the country so far,” Banks says. “And, that, of course, has a direct impact on the on-time ratings on airlines.”
In most cases, people take it in stride, but not always.
“We've got people traveling who are connecting through Atlanta or Delta, going down to a wedding,” Banks says, “and some of them are from Minneapolis and Milwaukee, and they're having a really hard time understanding why their flight is getting all messed up by a couple inches of snow.”
