Doctors say there is Life After Death

Experts say it could have brought Sopranos star James Gandolfini back to life. An American doctor says he believes we'll have the ability to bring people back to life after they've been dead for 24 hours -- some time in the next twenty years.

Dr. Teresa Camp-Rogers at Houston's UT Health Science Center says this is not science fiction.

"The treatment that's most talked about, at least in my research circles, is hypothermia and post-arrest care; and we save it for people that get a heart beat back on their own."

Dr. Camp-Rogers says she's excited to read Dr. Sam Parnia's new book.

KTRH medical expert Dr. Joe Galati of Houston Methodist says Gandolfini might have been a good subject for this.

"Sudden cardiac death or some sort of an accidental situation -- not somebody that has progressive, advancing disease with age."

Dr. Galati says brain damage is the big concern for someone dead more than a few minutes.

"The listeners need to be very careful that this is not going to be reality for everybody. If you have advanced cancer, advanced heart disease there's really no way that you're going to be able to survive."
