Amarillo is seeking the public's help in identifying a strange creature recently caught on camera outside the city’s zoo.
In the image, someone or something walks just beyond the zoo’s fence and looks toward the camera. The photo has baffled many, but some some have suggested the creature might be a mythical chupacabra, a beast that is said to suck the blood of goats.
The city says there are still no solid leads on what the creature might be.
The most plausible theory is that the motion-activated camera just caught someone walking near the zoo fence.
Amarillo Parks and Recreation Department Director Michael Kashuba said the camera is in an area that normally doesn’t see much foot traffic.
