According to Rep. Kat Cammack, (R-Florida), “pallets” of baby formula are being shipped to migrant holding facilities near the Mexican border while a nationwide shortage has American mothers desperately rushing from store to store to find some.
The shortage was sparked by manufacturing issues, then a rush on stores.

Cammack said a border agent sent her photographs of the deliveries, and she posted one online.
“They’re receiving pallets and more pallets of baby formula at the border,” she said holding a picture showing Advantage brand formula and Gogo Squeez applesauce. “This was taken at Ursula processing facility where thousands are being housed and processed and then released,” said Cammack.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection says the agency is required by law to protect those in its custody. A 2015 judicial ruling covers all children in immigration officials’ custody and states, “Food must be appropriate for at-risk detainees’ age and capabilities (such as formula and baby food).”
A statement from the agency said, "Ensuring migrants, including children and infants, in our custody have their basic needs met is in line with this administration’s commitment to ensuring safe, orderly, and humane processes at our border. CBP complies with all applicable regulations for the purchase of products used in CBP facilities."
Cammack said the government should put American parents first.
“I don't know about you, but if I am a mother, anywhere anytime in America, and I go to my local Walmart or Target or Publix or Safeway or Kroger or wherever it may be that you shop and you are seeing their shelves and you are seeing signs that you are not able to get baby formula. And then you see the American government sending by the pallet thousands and thousands of containers of baby formula to the border, that would make my blood boil," she said.
