2020: Politics & A Politician

Man push number zero down the cliff where has the number 2021 with blue sky and sunrise. It is symbol of starting and welcome happy new year 2021.

Happy New Year's eve! And good riddance 2020! The worst year of our lifetime is almost over. And for Texas State Senator Paul Bettencourt, 2021 can't get here soon enough! When we think of some of the things we miss about life pre-pandemic, Bettencourt says he really missed being able to go to a baseball game with fans, "I'm a baseball fan and I've had to watch everything on television." Unfortunately, for all of us, 2020 was filled with the two P's. Pandemic and politics! For Bettencourt and other politicians, there's been no break. Even today on New Year's eve, we're looking ahead to next week's Georgia runoffs, and the big showdown in Congress over the certification of the electoral votes. But, with all of that said, Bettencourt tells KTRH he is excited for 2021, especially here in Texas. "I think everybody is going to look at 2020 in the rear view mirror and hope it stays there!" "The bottom line is, with the vaccine starting to roll out, hopefully we'll be back to normal by the middle of next year." Let's hope so, and Happy New Year!
