Trump accepts nomination with vintage Trump speech at RNC

It was vintage Donald Trump.

Arguing "no one will be safe in Biden’s America," President Trump took aim at rival Joe Biden and painted a clear contrast between himself and the Democratic presidential nominee as he gave what may have been the most important speech of his 2020 reelection campaign.

Delivering his GOP renomination acceptance speech live from the South Lawn of the White House, the president emphasized that “Joe Biden is not the savior of America’s soul - he is the destroyer of America’s jobs, and if given the chance, he will be the destroyer of American greatness.”

And making the case for another four years steering the nation, arguing he's kept his promises and delivered on them to supporters. Trump promised that he would once again build the greatest economy in history if elected to a second term.

The speech is earning rave reviews. Political scientist Allan Saxe said Trump hit all the right notes.

"It was spectacular. He unloaded on Joe Biden, saying that civilization is at stake," Saxe explained, adding that there is no way Biden could match the kind of speech we watched last night.

"Donald Trump can make a speech on the spur of the moment. He can stand up and speak for two hours with or without a teleprompter in front of an audience."

The entire convention had a different feel than last week's Democratic effort. Donald Trump Jr. told Fox News it made him proud to be an American.

"Last week was a never ending, I hate America zoom call," Trump's son told Laura Ingraham.
