Constable deputy shot; expected to make complete recovery

A Constable Deputy from Harris County is now in stable condition and expected to make a complete recovery after a shooting in the northern part of the county overnight.

Harris County Precinct 4 Constable Mark Hermann says this all happened during a domestic disturbance call where the constable deputy was said to be ambushed. That officer had successful surgery at Memorial Hermann in The Woodlands.

As for the shooter, he was found dead by the SWAT team that entered his apartment at about 3 o'clock this morning. Whether the shooter committed suicide or died as a result of injuries he received when officers returned fire is not yet known.

We will have more details on this as they become available.
