HPD suspect in shooting spree caught after three people were killed

Houston say they have arrested a man after three people were killed and one was hurt in three shootings in Houston’s Southside last night that took place within a span of 45 minutes.

The first shooting was reported at about 8:15 p.m. The suspect is believed to be 35-year-old Joshua Kelsey, met with two African American men, and after an altercation, allegedly shot both men.

Then, police say Kelsey stole their car and drove to a home on Kelling Street about three miles away. At about 8:36 p.m., police say Kelsey forced himself into the home and shot a white man in his 60s. The victim was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The third shooting took place just after 9 p.m. where Kelsey allegedly walked into the home and shot a Hispanic man in his late 40s. The victim was rushed to the hospital where he too was pronounced dead.
