The Houston Food Bank and Houston Independent School District are getting together again to host another 25 Food Distribution Sites.. With layoffs and businesses going under, both groups say the need is great. This past weekend's Food Distribution at NRG Park started early because so many cars were lined up hours before they were scheduled to open that they filled the park. More cars were spilling over onto the feeder streets. Houston Food Bank serves 18 counties within southeast Texas alongside their partner food banks in Montgomery County, Galveston and Brazos Valley.
