Overflow Hospital Beds When Needed

Right now there are still empty hospital beds in Houston. But --- that could change, and soon. Today Mayor Sylvester Turner toured a building that will serve as an overflow facility. Turner said, This facility was actually used as a hospital. That's why it's ready to be used when we need it of right now. The facility can be used to increase the region's hospital bed capacity and for other purposes, such as quarantining first responders and other city employees as well as providing shelter for the homeless."

The building was formerly Kindred Hospital and has 68 hospital beds and includes an ICU facility.
