Are voting machines being used for 2020 vote secure?

You are starting to hear about security concerns with the voting machines many places will be using for the 2020 election.

A new report says a widely used machine has parts made by companies with close ties to Russia and China. That has cyber-security expert Robert Siciliano worried.

"Hackers have figured out how to implant backdoors into actual hardware chips that would enable criminals or government agencies to access our information," he said.

And yes, he said government agencies. Foreign government agencies.

"State sponsored hackers have unlimited time, money, and resources in order to develop technology to give them access to the United States," Siciliano explained.

Fort Bend County has been working on getting new machines for the 2020 election. Harris County is targeting 2021.
