New Info Demanded in Harding St. Raid

Harris County prosecutors sent a letter to the Houston Police Department, demanding documents they say are related to the botched January drug raid on a home on Harding Street, where two homeowners were killed and five police officers were hurt. The DA's office wants information on confidential informants used by one of the narcotics squads dating back to 2014.

The letter warned police to turn over the documents by the end of business Monday or risk subpoenas.

The raid was prompted by information from an informant, who allegedly told investigators he bought drugs at the home. There are now questions about whether that confidential informant even exists.

HPD completed an internal investigation into the incident in May, and says they turned over all relevant documents to prosecutors.

Two of the primary officers in the botched raid have since retired from HPD but are still under investigation.
