Former Houston Texans running back Cierre Wood is facing a murder charge in the death of his girlfriend's five year old daughter. The 28-year old was arrested Wednesday in Las Vegas on suspicion of child abuse... but charges were upgraded after the girl died. Wood's girlfriend - Amy Taylor - is also charged with child abuse and neglect.
Wood signed as an undrafted free agent with the Texans in 2013. He played in three games before being released for violating team rules. He also spent time on rosters in Buffalo New England, Baltimore, and Seattle. He last played in 2017 in the Canadian Football League.
