AUDIO: RESPONDING - Shara Fryer

A high pitched whistle is how the neighbors described it.…. And then the crash of ripped off tree limbs striking homes, being braided into other trees. My home in West U held up with just a big old oak limb….from somewhere….crashing my orange tree.My neighbors chimney is gone….don’t know where.Another neighbor ended up with someone else’s lawn furniture. A trampoline bounced over a fence onto a nearby car.

It was fast. And so was the response.First from the first responders. Fire department and police.Power was off for several hours, while neighbors took stock of each other and lent a hand to stacking debris.Cleanup is underway. But note to all….that piercing whistle is your signal…..take cover.Time enough after to take stock of what happened. We’ve posted some photos at ktrh.com
