PHOTO: Post Office To Honor George H.W. Bush With Stamp

(Washington, DC) -- The U.S. Post Office will be honoring the late former President George H.W. Bush with a new stamp. The commemorative Forever stamp features a portrait of Bush, who died in November at the age of 94. The USPS says the portrait was based on a photograph that was painted by artist Michael Deas. The Post Office described Bush as an "advocate for public service" who guided the U.S. through the end of the Cold War "and drove the creation of a multinational coalition that successfully forced Iraq to withdraw from Kuwait in the Persian Gulf War."

The stamp will be released on Bush's birthday, June 12th, and it's currently available for pre-order. Longtime Bush family spokesman Jim McGrath tweeted the stamp was unveiled Saturday at the George H.W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum in College Station, Texas.
