Customs And Border Protection Agency Prepares For Caravaners' Arrival

(Laredo, TX)  --  The Customs and Border Protection agency is working hard on getting ready for the arrival of thousands of Central Americans.  Laredo Field Office Director David Higgerson says Operation Secure Line is designed to help border agents focus on treating immigrants with respect while at the same time preventing forced illegal entry into the U.S.  

In a related story, a media statement last Thursday says Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen awarded Higgerson the 2018 Meritorious Service Silver Medal for his distinctive service as the Laredo Field Office Director.

Border Patrol Conducts Crowd Control Exercise

(El Paso, TX)  --  The U.S. Border Patrol is practicing crowd control exercises at the border.  On Friday in El Paso, Customs and Border Patrol personnel conducted a mobile field force demonstration designed to help prepare for an anticipated influx of thousands of Central American immigrants making their way north through Mexico.  

The exercise had been originally scheduled for November 7th but was cancelled abruptly and rescheduled for this Friday.
