A Baytown law enforcement officer last seen walking away from his home has been found dead, police say.
John Beasley, 46, died of a self-inflicted bullet wound, according to the Chambers County Sheriff Office.
He left his home at the 1800 block of Parker Place Drive last Thursday.
He was found dead near his house.
The CCSO had enlisted the help of multiple other agencies and the public in the search for him.
Until his body was discovered, no trace of Beasley had been found -- other than his cell phone, which was spotted with the battery removed in the woods.
Officials are conducting a news conference at this hour with details.
