Clinton denied Lewinsky affair twenty years ago today

Today is an important anniversary in American politics. Twenty years ago today, President Bill Clinton denied having an affair with White House intern Monica Lewinsky.

“I did not have sexual relations with that woman; Ms. Lewinsky,” Clinton stated forcefully.

The denial, of course, turned out to be a lie. Clinton did have that affair. But what if this had all happened today, given the prevalence of the ‘Me Too’ movement?

Political analyst Chris Begala tells KTRH he would not have been able to survive the way he did twenty years ago.

“Even Clinton and even with those working crisis for him I don’t know if he would be able to squirm out of this,” Begala said.

But there is one thing that would not be different. Begala says the liberal mainstream media would defend Clinton until they were blue in the face.

“I have no doubt the left would dig in their heels and protect their beloved leader,” Begala stated.

But, with the 'Me Too' movement being as prevalent as it is today, Begala says those defending Clinton would wind up eventually backing off.
