The Price is Right Comes to Sugar Land

The words immediately bring to mind the voice of Johnny Olson and images of the late Bob Barker on the legendary TV game show “The Price is Right.”  Drew Carey is the host of the TV show and now it’s also a touring stage show, coming to the Smart Financial Center in Sugar Land tonight, without Drew Carey as host.

That’s not going dampen anyone’s spirit.

The producers have taken the show on the road for more than a decade, giving away more than $12 million dollars in cash and prizes during that time, and fans line up for hours to participate at every stop.

They start handing out cards for potential contestants at 5 this evening at the Smart Financial Center and will randomly draw contestants.  Yes, it’s truly random.  There are no interviews or tryouts.

Contestants will play Plinko, Cliffhangers, the Big Wheel, and other games you remember from childhood, all leading up to the fabulous Showcase.  The Price is Right is the longest running game show in TV history but you’ll have a chance to experience all the fun and excitement yourself, if you have a ticket.

It’s a sold out performance.  It sold out very quickly, as the show does almost everywhere. “It’s amazing how people respond,” says the Smart Financial Center’s Andrew Huang. “It’s been sold out for quite a while now.”  But among those lucky ticket holders, someone is going to go home a winner.
