Texans set to visit Rams

The injury depleted Houston Texans hit the road on Sunday for a matchup against one of the NFL’s hottest teams.

Houston will face the Rams in Los Angeles Sunday afternoon coming off a 2014 loss to the Indianapolis Colts.

Tom Savage will make his second straight start for Houston in place of Deshaun Watson, who underwent surgery on his torn ACL earlier this week and is out for the season. Savage threw for 219 yards and a touchdown in last Sunday's 20-14 home loss to the Colts. Despite his struggles, Savage remains confident.

“I do believe I can throw the ball accurately. I just have to go out there and do it,” Savage said this week, adding he believes he’s a starting quarterback in the NFL.

The Texans are 3-5 midway through the season.

In the meantime, the Rams play their first home game in Los Angeles in more than a month The Rams have reeled off three straight wins to move atop the NFC West at 6-and-2, a half-game ahead of Seattle and two-and-a-half up on Arizona. LA has outscored its last two opponents 84-17. That includes a 51-17 rout of the Giants last Sunday at the Meadowlands, and a 33-0 shutout of Arizona in London.

Kickoff is at 3:05pm
