Fort Bend County officials have issued an Amber Alert for a 6-week-old Needville boy after family members reported he and his mother have not been seen since Monday morning.
Elijah Ray Farris has not been seen since 9:30 a.m. Monday when his mother, 30-year-old Sonia Diane Quintanilla, told family member she was taking the baby to the doctor, according to a Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office statement. However, family members say she and Farris never returned home and haven't had contact with anyone.
Quintanilla has a history of drug usage and leaving for short periods of time, according to the statement. Family members told deputies they're concerned that Farris may be in danger since Quintanilla apparently didn't take any food, clothing or diapers for the child.
Quintanilla was last seen leaving in the Needville area in a blue 1989 Chevrolet Caviler 4-door, bearing license plate Z84-CFV, according to the statement. Fort Bend County Detectives believe Quintanilla and Farris may be in the Northeast area of Houston near Tidwell and Highway 59.
Detectives are asking anyone with information on their whereabouts to contact the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office at 281-341-4665 or 281-341-4686.
