If your daughter enters the military, a California congresswoman says there's an alarmingly high chance she'll be sexually assaulted.
Congresswoman Jane Harman says 41-percent of the female vets at an L.A. area V.A. hospital report having been sexually assaulted. "A woman going for her intake exam into the military and the gynecologist examining her rapes her. Women being repeatedly raped by people whose uniforms they recognize and then having to complain and yet serve with these people."
Congresswoman Harman says there's an epidemic of sexual assault in the military. Houston-area Congressman Gene Green is caught off-guard by the claim. "I go to my own V.A. real often and I have never heard these numbers of 41-percent of the female veterans there are victims of sexual assault. That is outrageous."
Congressman Green says he'd like a federal investigation into Congresswoman Harman's claims.
