An 18-year-old was in critical condition at Memorial Hermann Hospital Sunday after being shot outside a gated community in the Alief area of southwest Harris County.
The teen was walking home from a party with his uncle and brother on Synott and Vineyard Park at about 1:15 a.m. When they reached the entrance to a gated subdivision, the teen and a person inside a car at the gate got into an argument.
That's when the person in the car pulled out a gun and shot the teen twice, once in the chest and once in the hand, officials said.
