The billboards are up in many in big cities. Fred Edwords is national director of the United Coalition of Reason. He says it's not intended to offend Christians -- it's to inform atheists.

"To let those folks know that there are groups for them. That there are communities, clubs and so on that they can join in the San Antonio area."

To which Houston Area Pastors Council President Dave Welch says -- it's a free country.

"We actually believe in free speech, unlike some of the atheist groups out there who have tried to silence the expression of Christianity."

Pastor Welch says atheism has failed in Communist nations like the Soviet Union and China, where he says it's destroyed nations.

A similar billboard was up along the Gulf Freeway in Houston in December 2009.
