We’re on pace for 3,700 this year
If you’ve been up for a couple of hours there’s a pretty good chance the folks in Washington just passed another regulation that will have you scratching your head.
How about these numbers? There were 66 regulations last week. That's one every two and a half hours. Ryan Young of the Competitive Enterprise Institute says most of them make no sense.
“The FDA approved spirulina extracts last week for use as a food coloring additive. Spirulina extract is a dried bacteria,” Young told KTRH.
Young also says it isn’t a Republican or Democratic trend. It’s a regulation trend.
“The level of regulation is about the same. It’s the norm,” Young stated.
Political analyst Chris Begala told KTRH the numbers are staggering, and the regulators are having negative effects on you.
“They have nothing else to do but put out ridiculous regulations so that people can’t hire folks and that companies can’t make money,” Begala said.
Begala says the whole thing is becoming ridiculous.
“They need to get out of the way so that people with real businesses can go out, make money and get this economy going,” Begala explained.
Over 3,100 regulations have been published in the Federal register this year, and we are on track for nearly 3,700 in 2013.
