Some Houston gas stations offer regular unleaded prices in the low 2-80s -- and the prices could go lower. GasBuddy.com Senior Petroleum Analyst Greg Laskoski says winter blend gas is cheaper.
“It’s cheaper to produce because it has fewer additives, and it also takes less time for refineries to make that fuel,” Laskoski explains. “That gets into the market no later than October 1st.”
Laskoski says the pump price could go down further, unless unrest in the Middle East drives the market back up.
“Prices in Texas and certainly in Houston, they could go down another 10-15 cents a gallon between now and Thanksgiving,” he says.
