The hypocrisy continues over Obamacare as Congress and their staffers get a break from out-of-pocket expenses.
“They're going to have to purchase their health insurance still through the exchanges, but they're going to essentially get a taxpayer provided subsidy so they are not paying anymore than they are today,” says the Cato Institute's Michael Tanner.
Texas Congressman John Culberson argues a select few will get an even better deal.
“The only people in America who are exempt from Obamacare are President Barack Obama, Vice President Joe Biden, the cabinet officers and Democrat committee staffers who wrote the bill in secret,” the Houston Republican tells KTRH News.
The move comes amid several delays and other issues the administration is dealing with as it attempts to implement the health care overhaul.
“More Americans are now going to be tossed off as a result of the employer mandate being postponed,” says Tanner. “Those individuals will have to buy insurance on their own and pay the higher cost, so why not Congress?”
Summertime polls show a majority of Americans are becoming more frustrated with Obamacare, think the roll-out is a "joke" and believe the law needs to be changed.
Culberson says he'll continue working to do just that as long as he is in office.
“Obamacare is designed to fail and collapse the insurance industry so the country is left with nothing but a single-payer, socialized health care system as they have in England,” he says.
