Some Congressman won’t hold annual town hall meetings
There are some voters who feel that Texas Republicans are afraid to face the music over Obamacare and other issues like immigration and tax reform.
Many of you have questions and are upset because Congressmen like Dallas' Pete Sessions won't hold town hall meetings about it. Katrina Pierson of Grassroots Texas tells KTRH there can be only one reason why.
“I believe they are afraid to answer these questions. We have Republicans in Congress who brag about having the majority who have been absolutely rudderless with the Obama Administration with every issue thus far,” Pierson said.
Pierson believes the politicians you vote into office owe it to you to answer your questions.
“Texans want answers. That’s why we want these town halls,” Pierson stated.
Pierson thinks politicians don't want to be shouted down like the late Pennsylvania Senator Arlen Specter was a few years ago, but Woodlands Congressman Kevin Brady told KTRH he's more than happy to talk to you.
“I’m holding 30 town hall meetings on tax reforms in August. We’ll talk about immigration and Obamacare as well,” Brady said.
Brady says he understands that many of you aren’t happy with Congress and the way things are going in Washington these days.
“People are frustrated with what’s going on with the federal government. It’s a great chance for them to tell me what they are thinking,” Brady explained.
