Two injured firefighters released from hospital
The Houston Fire Department announced that two of the firefighters hurt in last Friday’s massive five-alarm fire at the Southwest Inn have been released from the hospital. Engineer operator Anthony Livesay and EMT Robert Yarbrough went home yesterday.
Captain William Dowling remains in critical condition in a medically induced coma at Memorial Hermann Hospital.
Both Yarbrough and Livesay attended Wednesday’s memorial at Reliant Stadium for Robert Bebee, Matthew Renaud, Anne Sullivan and Robert Garner, their colleagues who died in the fire. Private funerals were held for Bebee and Garner Friday, the last of the four to be buried.
Federal, state, and local investigators are still looking into the official cause of the fire.
