Political expert Harvey Kronberg says he expects some of the half-dozen or so bills to pass.
“There’s obviously a fairly substantial pro-gun constituency on the House floor,” says the editor of the Quorum Report. “I would be surprised if at least some of those bills don’t pass.”
Several hundred gun bills have been narrowed to just a few with the strongest support from lobbying from groups like the NRA – and gun legislation is all that is on the agenda for Saturday.
He says these are the bills with the strongest support. Democrats could block passage, but they’d have to give up their weekend to delay the process enough that backers would give up.
