Attended by Governor Perry
The public memorial for a murdered Kaufman County District Attorney and his wife was held in Dallas.
Police found Mike McLelland and his wife Cynthia murdered in their home Saturday. A public memorial was held Thursday in Dallas that was attended by multiple police agencies and Governor Perry.
Harris County D.A. Mike Anderson says since the killings many proposals have been put forth on how to increase security for court personnel. Anderson says he is encouraging prosecutors to get their conceal and carry permit, "I think as it stands now we are doing everthing humanly possible to keep our people safe."
The murder of the McLellands is believed to be tied to the murder of Assistant District Attorney Mark Hasse back in January. All together $200,000 in reward money is being offered for information leading to the arrest of those reponsible for the murders.
