Two Houston area airports affects by FAA’s massive budget cuts.
Sequestration hitting close to home the Federal Aviation Administration shuts down 149 airports nationwide. Conroe and Sugarland airports among the causalities of the FAA’s $600 million dollar budget cut.
Lone Star Executive Airport Director Scott E. Smith said the Montgomery County and Conroe officials will be split airport costs and will be able to keep the airport operating until September 30th while looking for a long term solution. Sugarland Regional Airport Spokesman Doug Adolph said they are still evaluating their options.
