2.5 million people attended
If you went to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo this year you had plenty of company.
Leroy Shafer with the Rodeo says over 2.5 million people attended this year's show. Shafer says the numbers exceeded their wildest dreams. "This is my 39th show and this one tops anything I have ever seen in my nearly 40 years here."
Not only was the general attendance record broken, but the concert attendance record was broken four times this year alone. First was Bruno Mars, then Tejano Day, followed by Pitbull, and culminated with Sunday's George Strait show.
Shafer says the show this year was good all around, "We had no major accidents that spectators were involved in, so from that standpoint it was just a fantastic show."
