Annual meeting in The Woodlands brings experts from all over
The 44th Lunar and Planetary Science Conference starts today and runs all week. Developments and discoveries from the rover Curiosity and its study of the surface of Mars will highlight events today.
Meetings manager Kecia Mallette says the scientists are in the geochemistry, geology, astronomy and planetary science fields, among others. A total of 1800 scientist from more than 40 countries are attending.
“The scientists will be analyzing some of the data which has been coming back from the missions now going on,” Mallette says.
The science conference runs through Friday.
“Scientists from Qatar, Philippines, Portugal and all around the world participate,” Mallette says.
