Spring Break, St. Patrick's Day, and the Rodeo
Montgomery County Sheriff's deputies say they are out in full force for St. Patrick's Day and the no refusal weekend.
Authorities say this month's 1,000 DWI arrests in the Houston area was a huge increase compared to previous months. Deputies say they have seen they have seen fatalities and DWI's shoot up by 20 percent.
St. Patrick's Day combined with Spring Break and the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo made this weekend a focal point for police.
During no refusal weekends, police will pull over suspected drunk drivers and if they refuse a breathalizer, police have a nurse and a judge on standby to issue a warrant for the blood test.
