Following 100-acre grass fire this weekend
Fire officials are warning residents about the increased risk of fires due to dangerously dry conditions in the Houston area.
Families planning to barbeque or any outdoor activity should be aware of fire hazards and use caution with flames. Friday evening spring firefighters and multiple agencies battled a 100-acre fire in a wooded area near Birnam Wood Boulevard in North Harris County.
The fire has been contained. No homes were evacuated. Anyone with information on how the fire started is asked to call crime stoppers at 713-222-TIPS (8477).
