Concert attendance record broken three times this year
This year could be remembered as a record-breaking year for concerts at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.
Jason Aldean held the record for the highest paid attendance with 74,901 on St. Patrick's Day in 2012. That record was broken on March 7th with 75,175 watching Bruno Mars. Three days later, Go Tejano Day brought in the largest turnout on record with 75,305 fans for Julion Alvarez and Los Invasores de Nuevo Leon.
Thursday Pitbull became the second largest paid performance ever with 75,217 fans. Officials projected at least 2 million people would attend this year, but with three record attendance performances and this weekend featuring George Strait’s performance, there’s a strong chance this year’s overall attendance will be record-breaking as well.
