Traffic and parking plan is now in its second year
City officials are hoping their traffic and parking plan will alleviate problems during spring break.
The Mayor’s Office of Special Events says this will be the second year for their traffic and parking plan for the Hermann Park area. Every year during the Houston Live Stock Show and Rodeo, spring-breakers converge on Houston and want to take in the Children’s Museum and Zoo. The extra visitors create a traffic and parking nightmare.
Susan Christian with the Mayor’s Office of Special Events says they have set up a website that will allow Houstonians to plan ahead. You can visit the site here.
HPD and Metro workers will start phasing in road closures and detours this week, in preparation for the busy nine-day spring break window that starts Saturday.
