At one time the hot trend in the workplace was telecommuting. Now the trend is the other way. Yahoo's CEO fired the first shot by ordering her employees back to the office this month.
Tony Pannagl at Houston IT staffing firm Genuent says bosses have discovered they've lost too much time with workers.
"The hallway meetings; the water cooler meetings; the very quick change in direction."
Pannagl says young workers especially suffer from being away from the office.
"The younger generation of people that are entering into the work force need a little bit more mentoring and coaching and guidance and structure."
Of course this means your morning commute will be that much more congested, with more of us driving to work.
