Parking fees along the seawall delayed a couple months

You won’t to have a pay a parking fee along the Galveston seawall for at least another 60 to 90 days.

City voters approved a measure last year to start charging for the coveted spaces and using the revenues for amenities such as bathrooms.  The plan was to have gone into effect March 1.

But Lt. Michael Gray informs KTRH that Galveston Police are behind schedule, pushing the parking plan back into the summer months.

The parking fees will affect spaces from 6th to 69th streets and from 81st to 108th streets.

Fees will be $1 an hour, $8 maximum for a day, and $25 for a year.
