Democrats say so but Republicans doubt it
Some democrats are confident they can turn Texas from a Red State to a Blue State -- possibly as soon as 2016. Texas republicans are, to say the least, skeptical.
Harris County Democratic Party Chairman Lane Lewis says it's inevitable.
"Well, I think it's a very realistic expectation and I suggest your Rush fans need to start getting used to it, because we're comin'."
But Harris County GOP Chairman Jared Woodfill isn't convinced.
"I think he's living in a dream land. Obviously he hasn't looked at the numbers. President Obama lost Texas by over 16 points."
Democrats say the growing Hispanic population means Texas will someday be blue -- but republicans say don't assume those voters are guaranteed democrats.
