The groundbreaking for the 30-story tower will be later this year
One of the largest independent oil and gas companies in the world is building a new office tower in Houston.
BHP Billiton Petroleum has announced they are building a new 30-story office tower on Post Oak in the Galleria area. The new building will be attached by a skyway to their current headquarters to create a campus.
Billiton CEO Mike Yeager says they hope to break ground on the new tower later this year and will move in by 2016. Yeager says they are aiming to have the building Gold Certified in the government's LEED program.
BHP Billiton Petroleum recently purchased $20 billion in assets in Texas, Louisiana, and Arkansas, which doubled their workforce.
