Lubbock man arrested for sexting 11-year-old girl

Following the arrest of a Lubbock man accused of sexting an 11-year-old girl, Texas parents are asking what they can do to keep predators away from their children.

Tim Woda of uknow.com says it starts with the kids' character.

"It's been said that the only people who can keep your kids' safe with cell phones and technology is really the kids themselves."

Woda says kids who've been raised with a strong sense of values won't be tempted to misuse technology.

"The time to start talking to your kids about making smart, safe choices is long before you're ready to give them a phone."

Woda says parents need to learn about cell phones and what they can do. Then make common sense rules for kids about their usage.
