Boston to close this afternoon.
Winter storm "Nemo" is wreaking havoc on air travel to the northeast this weekend, and already impacting flights leaving out of Houston's two airports.
"We've have a total nationwide of over 3,000 canceled flights," says Darian Ward with the Houston Airport System. "It's affecting us at Bush with about 50 canceled flights, and over at Hobby we're looking at one canceled flight and a couple delays going to JFK and Philly."
"In the northeast, those areas are Newark, LaGuardia, Toronto, Chicago and Boston," she says. "Around 3 pm, all of the flights into Boston will be stopped because of all the bad weather there."
Ward says anyone planning a weekend getaway to the northeast should simply "fuggedaboutit."
Travelers heading out of Houston's Bush or Hobby are urged to check their flight status online before leaving home.
