Congestion will only get worse without road maintenance
Yesterday we told you Houston ranks among the most congested cities in a Texas A&M study. Today the fear is it'll only get worse if Texas roads are not repaired.
"Ya know, when you wear a pair of shoes all the time they eventually start to wear out. You even have to keep your shoes in good repair."
Representative Riddle says she agrees with the governor -- it's time to dip into the "Rainy Day" fund.
"There is extra money that we can dip into to make sure that our roads and highways are safe and in good repair."
TxDOT has told lawmakers it faces a funding crisis if something isn't done this legislative session. TxDOT says it needs an additional $4-billion per year.
