Gresham starts up Operation Gun Rights
While Congress decides what to do about the gun issue, one gun supporter wants you to get more involved in the debate.
Television and radio host Tom Gresham has started ‘Operation Gun Rights,’ and tells KTRH that you can get involved if they want to. All it takes is a phone call.
“Once a week for maybe 12 weeks, you should contact your Senators and Congressmen. Tell them you don’t want any more gun control laws because they don’t work,” Gresham said.
Gresham believes some on the left has one simple goal in mind.
“They want a ban on guns, and we’re trying to make sure that our elected politicians understand we don’t want this and we won’t stand for this,” Gresham explained.
Michael Hammond, legal counsel for Gun Owners of America, says Congress needs to be reminded of what happened after significant gun laws were passed.
“None of it had any impact whatsoever on crime. In fact, crime shot up after the passage of America’s most significant gun control law,” Hammond told KTRH.
Hammond thinks the Second Amendment will win when the dust settles.
“I would bet that we will succeed in killing all the major aspects of gun control,” Hammond stated.
Gresham says he believes Operation Gun Rights will have an impact and that when it's all said and done, Congress will be influenced by the people rather than the media.
