Created PSA advocating firearms training
Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke is asking residents to, "get in the game..." when it comes to self-defense.
Sheriff Clarke created a 30-second public service announcement where he says, "...after layoffs and furloughs simply calling 911 and waiting is no longer your best option...." The ad asks people to consider taking a certified safety course in firearms use to protect yourself until police arrive.
Houston Police Officer's Union President Ray Hunt says he can understand where Sheriff Clarke is coming from. But, Hunt says even though they are facing understaff issues here, he doesn't think that pressing the panic button is necessary in Houston.
Ray Hunt does say that he advocates people getting safety training if you own a firearm and that a firearm is your best defense if you have an intruder in your home.
