Stockman threatens impeachment
Many are not happy at the prospect that President Obama could use an executive order to restrict gun ownership. One Congressman, Steve Stockman (R-Texas) has decided to fight fire with fire.
Stockman announced on Monday he could file articles of impeachment against the President if he continues to go down this road. On Tuesday, he explained to Matt Patrick on Houston’s Morning News why he’s doing this.
“We watched this President take unprecedented actions against the citizens without Congress,” Stockman told KTRH.
Stockman says it’s about time someone take a stand against the President.
“We’re stepping up and saying that enough is enough,” Stockman explained.
Why now?
“Someone needs to say, ‘Stop it.’ We thought now was appropriate before any more of our rights are eroded,” Stockman stated.
Stockman, who was elected to return to Washington for the first time since the mid-1990’s and represent the 36th District, maintains that Obama is treating Congress and Americans like children.
“He’s really treating us like a dictator. He’s doing everything by edict,” Stockman stated.
The Congressman told KTRH he believes people stand up with him.
“I’m hoping this will start people rising up and joining us in this fight,” Stockman explained.
