Nationally recognized restaurants and museum district key in selection
The New York Times has named Houston the #7 destination in the world to visit.
"The 46 places to go in 2013" is the New York Times annual look at best locations in the world to visit. The article states Houston is "making a bid to be the state’s cultural and culinary capital," citing the spectacular Museum District and nationally recognized restaurants.
The museums and restaurants were key in making the Bayou city one of its top 10 destinations in the world. Houston is one of only six cities in the nation to make the list.
Rio de Janeiro, host of the 2014 World Cup and 2016 Summer Olympics, is listed as the number one destination.
