Teen shaming is the new cyber bullying rage

Girls copy pictures from social media for ridicule

The latest form of cyber bullying: teen shaming. Teen girls take photos from Facebook, post them elsewhere and then criticize the girl in the picture.

Missy Wall is director of the Teen Contact Program at the Contact Crisis Line.

"I think it's something that we're gonna see more and more of."

Wall says cyber bullying is easier than bullying in person and there are lots of opportunities -- especially with smart phones.

"It's not just gonna be the shaming or it's not just gonna be the pictures; it's just a snippet I think of what we're going to see in the next five to ten years."

Wall says parents can stop it by instilling values in their children and monitoring closely when the kids are online and what the kids are doing.
